I often struggle with keeping things interesting in the kitchen, as you know I’m not a professional chef so the internet has come handy in my journey of taking daily meals to the next level.
Chicken meat is my top choice when it comes to cooking. I find it healthy and unproblematic with tons of potential. As many of you, I spend a lot of time browsing, my favourite platform to find good recipes is Pinterest so is not a surprise that the following recipe review is inspired by a pin.
Spontaneous cooking to the rescue
I rarely plan in advanced my recipes, I always check what I have in the pantry and what type of meat we are in the mood to eat based on that I make my research.
The biggest challenge I face during my foodie search is finding a recipe that requires only what I have or it can be modified but equally tasty, sound like a piece of cake huh?
When it comes to my cuisine I’m full of contradictions. I like it simple but interesting, challenging but comprehensible, captivating and elegant but completely approachable and appealing. You can say as a non-chef food lover person I want it all effortlessly perfect.
The recipe I am reviewing today is not the exception, I think it will give you a better idea of what to expect from this blog.
The Spicy Honey Lime Chicken Thighs recipe is packed with intriguing flavours and most of the ingredients are pantry friendly. Let’s take a dive into the pan and glam up those chicken thighs shall we?
The process of glam it up
Since I’m not a professional, one thing I ask for is clear and consistent step by step guidance, thankfully this recipe has it all. So you can’t go wrong with this one!
The list of ingredients is pretty simple, but life always surprise you with exceptions, in this case Sriracha dry seasoning. This newbie in the kitchen had no idea such thing exist! And of course I didn’t have it in my pantry and this unplanned wife had her starving loving husband at home so going out and search for it wasn’t an option.
Solution? skip it, but don’t worry you don’t sacrifice flavour! Besides I discover how much I hate Sriracha so skipped it work wonders for me.
The photo doesn’t make it justice, and I promise better food pictures in the future.
You can pair this delicious dish with rice or rice noodles for a more oriental gastronomic experience.
Is it worth trying this recipe?
Leaving the Sriracha aside, I’d say the only downside is dirty dishes. If you don’t like washing dishes like me , you need some kind of arrangement with the people you are cooking for because oh boy! This recipe leaves a lot of dirty dishes behind. (What recipe doesn’t )
Flavour wise, this recipe is amazing! If you like slightly spicy bittersweet food this one is definitely for you! The preparation time doesn’t feel like an eternity and you feel like you know what you’re doing thanks to the clear steps.
I highly recommend you to give it a try and if you are missing one of the ingredients get creative and make this recipe your own! You can follow the steps but also I encourage you to trust your intuition and mostly important honour your culinary tastes.
